Dragon Ball Super Episode 96 (Summary)

Dragon Ball Super Episode 96 : The time has come! To the World of Void. Where the universes’ fate will be decided.

The gods of the four universes exempted from the power tournament arrive at the newly completed tournament arena. While they are wondering if the arena will hold the shock all along the tournament, the High Priest welcomes them and says that the Zeno Kings relax until the competitors arrive. In response to the concerns of the gods, the High Priest explains that the arena is made from metal "Kachi-Katchin", a material more robust than the metal Katchin of the Universe 7 (which had broken the Z-Sword of Gohan ).

The High Priest continues by suggesting that they test the arena before the main event, in order to entertain the Zeno Kings. Thus, Liquiir, Arack and Iwne (spelled in the translation of Toei Animation) the Gods of Destruction of Universe 8, 5 and 1, begin a friendly battle with the same rules as the main tournament. Liquiir sees this as a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how their 3 universes are superior to those who must participate in the tournament, while Geene, the god of the destruction of the Universe, 12 bows down by saying that he already knows How things will end. The match begins, but quickly, the arena is in ruins.

At the end of the game, the High Priest thanked the participants for showing that the arena had to be improved ... and allowed them to repair it themselves before the start of the tournament. Unfortunately, the Zeno Kings slept and saw nothing of the fight.

On Earth, the atmosphere is tense: Frieza meets the rest of the Universe 7 team at Capsule Corporation. Beerus warns Frieza that he will not let them fool them. Vegeta laughs at the Frieza halo, and Frieza offers to offer him one too. Tenshinhan wonders if they can really use Frieza as a member of the team, but Goku assures him that he can take care of him if there is a problem. Besides, there's nobody else they can use instead of Buu ... On the side, Yamcha, Puar and Oolong spy on the conversation. Puar console Yamcha not to have been selected in the team, but it seems to live it well.

Shin wants to discuss the strategy, but Vegeta thinks the simplest is to eliminate those who will look stronger from the start. Frieza agrees with Vegeta, but Gohan insists on the importance of teamwork, and Piccolo points out that if they lose, it will mean the end of their universe ... including Trunks and Bra. Vegeta becomes a little more cooperative, but does not like Shin's idea of focusing on enemies by fighting 2 to 1, or 3 to 2, etc. Goku also thinks it's dirty as a method . The Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta want to give the best of themselves in singular combat, and Gohan and Piccolo realize that they will have a job to promote teamwork.

Whis announces that it is time to leave, and that to teleport to the arena, everyone will have to hold hands. Vegeta refuses to take the hand of Frieza, but Beerus enters and plays the intermediary by taking the hand of Frieza on one side, and that of Vegeta on the other. Whis contacts the High Priest who teleports the team to the World of the Void. Seeing the team leave, Yamcha says that the fate of the Earth and its whole universe is now in their hands.

The team arrives in Empty World and find Liquiir and the other gods who carry the finishing touch to their work of repairing the arena. Teams from other universes are beginning to arrive, and Beerus notices that they are not holding hands. In fact, holding hands was not necessary to teleport, it was just that Whis wanted to try to build bonds in his team (although it almost fucked). C-18 notes how the arena floats in a vacuum (hence the name), and Whis explains that competitors can not use flight techniques such as "Buku Jutsu". However, competitors with wings are always allowed to fly, as are non-participants in the tournament. In addition, each competitor will always experience the same gravity as on his native planet, so no inequality at this level.

The gods take off to watch from afar, and the fighters of the Universe come to greet the Universe. 7. Frost and Frieza are delighted to meet, while Cabbe presents Caulifla and Kale to his "Master" Vegeta. Goku is surprised to meet Saiyan women, although Caulifla is obviously not sociable. On the side, Krilin wonders if Muten Roshi will be able to manage the women he will have to fight, but he assures him that he is fine. Sidra and Rou are not happy to see the Universe 7 team, but Rou thinks they will have to leave things to their own warriors now. In a corner, Frieza and Frost plot: they both like to rule by force and seem to agree well. Frieza proposes an alliance, Frost accepts ...

Meanwhile, the team of the Universe 11 arrives, and Goku and Vegeta are shocked by their ki. Caulifla seems less impressed, and she is even astonished that the Saiyans of the Universe are so much so. Goku rushes to greet Toppo and says they can finish their game the last time, but Toppo is not interested in any personal rivalry. He is there to save his world. Goku sees Jiren, but Jiren is even less friendly: he seems to move instantly behind Goku's back and coolly tells him to pull himself.

Seeing that all the warriors have arrived, Liquiir and the others pose the remaining blocks of the arena. The warriors avoid these flying blocks at full speed, including Goku, but Jiren stays perfectly still, and the blocks graze him. Goku realizes that Jiren was able to read the movements of the block perfectly in advance. He's really strong.

When the arena repairs are completed, the High Priest presents the teams. First, the team of Universe 2, with the highest proportion of female combatants, and a Yardrat, as those who taught her teleportation. Then, the team of Universe 3, composed of several cybernetic warriors. The Universe 4 team seems to have only eight members, but Tenshinhan can feel the other two. The Universe 6 team features the five members of the last tournament, plus Caulifla, Kale, a boar man and two dark characters. The Universe 7 team is known, and the Universe 9 team has the "Danger Trio" and seven additional members. The Universe 10 team has a bunch of tricky guys, plus flying fighters (birds / butterflies). And the team of Universe 11 consists entirely of Pride Troopers: Toppo, Jiren, Dyspo and the rest of the team.
